InfantSEE 20th Anniversary

St. Louis, MO – December 18, 2024 – InfantSEE®, a program that provides no-cost, comprehensive eye and vision health assessments for infants, concludes the year with 172,000 assessments since the initiative’s inception in 2005.

Managed by The American Optometric Association (AOA) Foundation and backed from the beginning, for 19 years, by AOA visionary supporter Johnson and Johnson, InfantSEE is a public health program designed to ensure that eye and vision care becomes an integral part of infant wellness care to improve a child’s quality of life. Currently, there are more than 4,000 InfantSEE providers, with over 10 percent being recent graduates.

“In 2025, InfantSEE will celebrate its 20th anniversary. As the AOA’s first public health program for infants, InfantSEE truly has so much to celebrate,” said Dr. Jennifer Zolman, O.D., chair of the AOA InfantSEE and Children’s Vision Committee. “From preserving comprehensive examinations as a part of the Essential Benefit package of the Affordable Care Act to creating guidelines for infant examinations, InfantSEE has been instrumental in elevating our communities, our country and the future of eye care.”
